We have an exciting opportunity for an Administration Officer (AO) to join our friendly and welcoming team here atHis Majesty's Naval Base Clyde.


This position is full time offering 37 hours per week.

Job description




You will work as a member of the Medical Centre Team providing a comprehensive, efficient, and effective service in accordance with Ministry of Defence (MOD) and DPHC policies and procedures. Your duties will include administrative support to all Clinicians and any other administrative requirements of the medical centre.


As the post holder will be required to use the Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP) computer system, having completed all the necessary training.


As the Practice Administrator you will have a major impact in promoting a positive image of the Healthcare Facility to patients and other users.

Person specification




Main duties of the role include but are not limited to:

Providing administration support as directed by the Principal Medical Officer (PMO)/ Business Support Manager (BSM). Supporting the outputs of the combined West of Scotland practice (HMS Neptune and Kentigern House Medical Centres) delivering safe, effective patient care and business outputs across both sites, in line with the DPHC mission, DPHC priorities and PMO priorities. Organising authorised travel arrangements as required, including transport and hotel bookings. Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures. Some analytical work may also be required in the form of requests for searches and data gathering for certain projects. Providing administrative assistance to the Hospital Appointments department by assisting with the process of referrals to Civilian Hospitals and Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit (MDHU) Host Trusts, initiating and compiling all necessary paperwork. Contribute to effective liaison with internal agencies i.e. other medical facilities and other organisations involved in the provision of medical care.
