Our Union Street is a not for profit organisation creating a brand new app, Our Aberdeen, designed to re-energise the heart of the city and connect people with everything that makes Aberdeen special. From showcasing independent shops, restaurants and bars to promoting cultural trails like Nuart and local history tours, the app will serve as a one stop guide to enjoying the city centre.
We are currently in the early stages of configuring this off the shelf platform and are looking for a creative, strategic, and digitally confident App & Content Marketing Assistant to help bring it to life.
You will be responsible for managing and shaping the content on the app, working closely with local businesses and partners, using data and trends to guide engagement, and ensuring that the app reflects the vibrancy and potential of Aberdeen.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Management
Curate and manage engaging, up to date content for local businesses, events, trails, tours, and attractions across the city centre.
Marketing Integration
Collaborate with the wider team to align app content with seasonal campaigns, local initiatives, and major events.Use app analytics and wider data insights (such as footfall, weather, and seasonal trends) to inform content strategy and highlight relevant places or experiences.Act as the link between the app and the city's business community--encouraging participation, assisting with onboarding, and showcasing offerings effectively.Confidently promote the value of the app to stakeholders and local businesses, driving awareness and encouraging ongoing engagement.Manage updates within the app's content management system. While coding is not required, you must be comfortable editing listings, uploading content, and navigating backend tools. This aspect of the role requires attention to detail, discipline, and consistency to ensure that all information remains accurate and relevant.

About You
Experience in marketing, content management, or digital communications
Strong understanding of how to use data and insights to guide decisions and improve engagement
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A proactive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to spot opportunities and bring ideas to life
Confidence in using digital tools and platforms ideally with CMS experience
Passionate about Aberdeen and the revival of its city centre
Desirable Skills
Experience working with apps or digital campaigns
Familiarity with Aberdeen's retail, hospitality, or cultural scene
Sales or stakeholder engagement experience
Knowledge of analytics and marketing tools such as Google Analytics or Meta Business Suite
