Overview


As an Application Engineer for the EMEA region, you will serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to AMT's customers and partners. You'll lead machine installations and training, support customers with technical queries, and play a key role in driving adoption of our post-processing technology.

In addition to hands-on technical support, you will contribute to the creation of technical and commercial documentation, including user manuals, case studies, and internal/external guides to support both customer onboarding and sales enablement.

This is a highly dynamic, customer-facing role combining engineering know-how with problem-solving, relationship management, and commercial awareness. The position involves frequent travel across Europe to visit customers, install machines, and support activities at AMT sites.

Duties



Customer Support & Training

Act as a key technical contact for customers, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance for PostPro systems. Conduct remote and on-site installations, machine commissioning, and in-depth customer training sessions. Ensure customers are confident using the technology and understand best practices for achieving optimal results.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare technical and commercial documentation such as user manuals, case studies, and training materials. Create and maintain internal application guides and customer-facing documents to support onboarding and aftersales activities. Ensure all findings and reports are clearly documented and communicated to relevant internal stakeholders.

Customer Engagement & Account Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners across the EMEA region. Regularly check in with users to ensure systems are being used effectively and to proactively address any challenges. Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, or expanding the scope of AMT's solutions.

Sales Support & Enablement

Collaborate with the sales team to support technical aspects of the sales process, including live demos, sample production, and part costing. Represent AMT in meetings with prospective customers, partners, and resellers. Support customer events, trade shows, and technical workshops when needed.

CRM & Process Management

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, installations, and support activities using CRM and internal systems (e.g. HubSpot, KIFLO, Freshdesk). Coordinate effectively with internal teams including Production, Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to ensure seamless customer experience. Track and report on technical issues, feature requests, and feedback to support continuous improvement of AMT products.

Travel & On-Site Support

Travel regularly across Europe to customer sites for installations, troubleshooting, and training. Visit AMT facilities (e.g. Hungary, UK) for team collaboration, factory acceptance tests, and engineering alignment

Experience



Experience & Industry Knowledge

1 - 3 years of experience in a technical support, applications, or customer-facing engineering role, ideally within hardware, machinery, or advanced manufacturing. Experience in or exposure to additive manufacturing workflows (SLS, MJF, FDM), including basic understanding of materials, part orientation, and post-processing requirements. Prior involvement with hands-on machinery, installation, commissioning, maintenance, or support is highly desirable.

Technical Competence

Ability to quickly understand and explain complex mechanical and chemical systems, including AMT's PostPro vapour smoothing technologies. Comfortable operating, testing, and troubleshooting technical equipment both independently and alongside customers. Confident with data collection, measurement techniques (e.g. surface roughness, tensile testing), and reporting of technical results.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical customers. Ability to build trust and credibility with customers, understanding their business goals and how PostPro fits into their operations. Empathetic, customer-focused approach with a strong ability to handle challenging situations professionally.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills

Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership, takes initiative to resolve issues and identify areas for improvement. Analytical thinker with the ability to break down complex technical challenges and propose practical, timely solutions. Resourceful and adaptable, especially when working independently or in unfamiliar environments.

Organisational Skills

Strong time management and organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects, travel, and support activities in parallel. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service, documentation, and technical output. Comfortable working remotely and managing tasks with limited supervision.

Tools & Systems

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations. Experience using CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot) and/or project management tools. Familiarity with CAD, 3D printing software, or post-processing tools is a bonus.

Qualifications



BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Additive Manufacturing, or a related technical field. Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional European languages (e.g. German, French, Italian) are highly advantageous
