The main purpose of this role is to support the Product Success Department with test related activities to develop new fibre optic connectivity and passive technology solutions. The Application Technician must have the ability to take verbal technical direction from the Product Success team and move projects forward based on the directions given. The applicant will be expected to analyse information and communicate findings internally and externally as needed. SENKO is positioned to support and train anyone interested in this position for people looking to start a new career path

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Build fibre optic assemblies. Run fibre optic test equipment to validate R&D designs, experiments, and validations. Will be responsible for fibre handling and processing skills including fibre stripping, fibre ribbonization, fibre cleaving, crimping, splicing, polishing operations, testing, geometrical and visual connector inspection. Create and assist with Design of Experiments and execute daily experimental duties. Create and assist with start-up, maintenance and commissioning of laboratory equipment. Follow standard test instructions, practices and procedures. Track, collect and analyse data for sharing purposes. Writing, validation and editing of Engineering Termination Procedures (ETP) Writing, validation and editing of Engineering Product Specifications (EPS) Writing, validation and editing of Engineering Polishing Procedures (EPP) New components qualification. Must understand manufacturing documentation including piece part drawings, assembly drawings.

Requirements



We are looking for a motivated and result-driven individual with the following qualifications:

Bachelor degree in a related Science or Engineering discipline preferred. 2+ years hands-on experience in optical fibre cable assembly preferred. Knowledge of Fibre Optics testing procedures and industry standards preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Self-motivated, results-oriented personality. Strong communication skills: verbal and written. Spanish language is a plus. Ability to work in a cross functional team environment collaborating with engineering, and product management. Ability to travel at least 25%
