The Applications Engineer will provide technical expertise to support both purchasing and sales functions, ensuring customers receive accurate, efficient, and commercially viable solutions. This role will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements, recommending suitable products, and supporting the development of new and existing business. The Applications Engineer will play a key role in bridging the gap between customers, suppliers and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Engineering
Provide technical guidance and engineering support to customers, the sales team, and internal departments.
Review customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to propose appropriate fastening or engineered solutions.
Assist in the development of bespoke components and engineered products in collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers.
Provide root cause analysis and technical support for product issues, quality concerns, and customer complaints.
Produce technical documentation, drawings, and reports as required.
Commercial & Sales Support
Work closely with the external and internal sales teams to identify opportunities for product improvements and new business development. Value added benefits for customer and Staytite
Attend customer meetings (onsite or virtual) to provide technical input and enhance customer relationships.
Assist in preparing technical elements of quotations, tenders, and proposals.
Support product presentations, demonstrations, and technical training sessions for internal staff or customers.
Purchasing & Supplier Liaison
Collaborate with purchasing teams to ensure product specifications are accurate and achievable.
Liaise with global suppliers and manufacturers to source custom and standard products.
Assist with supplier audits, qualification activities, and cost optimisation projects.
Travel Requirements
Regular UK-wide travel for customer visits and internal meetings.
International travel to attend supplier visits, audits, training, exhibitions, and global customer sites.
