We're looking for someone to join our software development team in a hybrid role that blends application support, testing, and process improvement.

What You'll Be Doing:



Taking responsibility for our

internal applications helpdesk

-- answering queries, logging issues, and helping colleagues get the most out of our software.

Becoming the go-to expert

for our in-house tools: troubleshooting, explaining problems clearly, and working with developers to resolve them.

Testing new features and applications

to ensure they work properly and meet user needs. Creating clear, simple

guides and documentation

for our users. Helping identify areas for improvement and working with the team to

streamline support and testing processes

What You'll Learn:



You don't need to be a technical expert to start -- we'll provide full training in:

Software testing practices Writing SQL scripts and reports for data testing Using ticketing systems and QA tools

What We're Looking For:



A strong organiser and communicator -- someone who can prioritise, multi-task, and work well with others. Curious and proactive -- enjoys solving problems, learning how things work, and helping others. Confident with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams and Word. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team.

Duties and responsibilities:



Helpdesk support for all in-house applications; answering emails and calls from software users Monitor/update users with progress of reported helpdesk issues Assigning tasks to other members of the department Recording bugs and user requests on the department's ticketing software Application testing Excel report maintenance EPOS support for our stores, including on-call on Saturdays when stores are open (September to January at an additional on-call pay rate) Create and update user guides, release notes and test plans User training Help with application fault finding Install and update applications on PCs Set up new users Provide administrative support to the Solutions Department

Personal specification:



Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Someone curious, detail-oriented, and patient Technically-minded, but doesn't need to be a coder Should be able to plan their own time to meet deadlines Eager to learn new skills Enjoys structure, process, and communication Must be willing to be flexible to suit the businesses requirements from day to day Enjoys solving problems and improving how things work Have a good attention to detail Must be a team player Should be adaptable and able to work in a busy environment with a varied workload
