About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Architectural Metalwork and Structural Steel Fabricator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop practical skills and technical knowledge in the fabrication and installation of architectural metalwork and structural steelwork. You will work alongside experienced fabricators and welders, gaining hands-on experience in a busy workshop and on-site environments.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the fabrication of architectural metalwork (balustrades, handrails, staircases, canopies, etc.) and structural steel components (beams, columns, frames, etc.).
Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
Use a variety of fabrication equipment, including cutting, drilling, grinding, and welding machinery.
Support in measuring, marking, cutting, and assembling metal sections accurately and safely.
Learn and apply various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, and MMA).
Assist in the preparation, finishing, and quality inspection of fabricated items.
Participate in site installations under supervision, ensuring safe working practices are followed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace, following company health and safety policies.
Work towards achieving relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications in Metal Fabrication.

Minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
A positive attitude and commitment to completing the apprenticeship.
Physically fit and able to work in a workshop and construction environment.
Full driving licence (or working towards) preferred but not essential.
Training to be provided
