We are currently recruiting an Apprentice Bricklayer to join a busy new build construction site in South Thamesmead. This is a full-time, entry-level role offering a paid apprenticeship route into bricklaying, ideal for someone motivated to build a career in the construction industry.

Eligibility - Section 106 Borough Restrictions

You must live in one of the following postcodes to be eligible due to local employment requirements:

DA1, DA5, DA6, DA7, DA8, DA14, DA15, DA16, DA17, DA18, SE2, SE9, SE28.

We regret that we are unable to consider applicants who do not live in one of these postcodes.

Applicants who fail to answer the qualifying questions will not be progressed.

What You'll Do:

Learn how to build walls, arches, and partitions using bricks, blocks, and specialist tools Work outdoors in all weathers on active construction sites Support the unloading of deliveries and loading out materials Assist with measuring work areas, setting out build areas, and following building plans Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace Follow instructions from site supervisors and work well in a team Attend college or training provider as part of your apprenticeship programme Gain hands-on experience in structural bricklaying, repairs, and decorative finishes

What We're Looking For:

Aged 18 or over At least 2 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A-C), including English and Maths (or equivalent)
If you do not have GCSEs, you can complete functional skills as part of the apprenticeship Valid CSCS card (essential) Punctual, reliable, and physically fit Willingness to learn and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Commitment to completing a formal apprenticeship programme Passion for construction and hands-on work

Benefits

Pay:

7.55 per hour (Apprenticeship rate for first year)

Location:

South Thamesmead

Working Hours:

38 hours per week

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Type:

Full-time, Apprenticeship (Level 2 or Level 3, depending on qualifications)

Safeguarding & Compliance:

This role requires a CSCS card and proof of eligibility to work in the UK. Candidates must live within the approved postcodes. A DBS check may also be required.
