Unibloc Hygienic Technologies is an industry leader in precision-engineered positive displacement pumps, Air-Operated Double Diaphragm pumps and drum pumps, as well as valves, strainers, bubble traps, oil coolers and sight glasses. All products focus on driving process improvements through safe, efficient, easy-to-maintain COP and CIP products that help customers fight downtime, achieve a lower cost of operation, and meet deadlines with confidence.

Unibloc have successfully trained several apprentices through SIGTA programmes and are now recruiting 1 apprentice for CNC Turning, CNC Milling (vertical) & CNC Milling (Horizontal). Learn to set programme and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to produce high-precision components.

Training Course (Standard number & title)

ST1305 Machining Technician Apprenticeship Standard

Apprenticeship duration - 45 months

Training to be provided:

On completion of the apprenticeship, you will have achieved the following qualifications;

EAL L3 Extended diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge) Level: 3 Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering NVQ (Level 3 Diploma)
The final apprenticeship completion certificate will be issued on achievement of the above qualification and successful completion of end point assessment.

Your main duties in this wide-ranging apprenticeship will be:

Setting CNC Machining centres to achieve first off approval. Operation of CNC Machining centres. Deburring of components using conventional machinery. Metrology - component inspection. Updating Planning sheets, job packs and tooling location. Carry out production in accordance with all quality procedures and customers' requirements. Housekeeping of workstations areas. Compliance with Unibloc Health & Safety procedures.

Weekly working hours

Core hours: Monday - Thursday 0730 -1630, Friday 0730 -1330 (40 hours)

If under 18 years of age: 0800 - 1630, Friday 0730 -1330 (38 hours)

Total working hours 40/38 if under 18

Pay rate - weekly or per annum 7.55 per hour for under 18-year-old apprentices (286.90 per week/14,918.80 per annum).

Applicants should be "hands on", practical individuals with an interest in how things are made and how they work. Accuracy, consistency & attention to detail important.

Qualifications:

Essential - 5 x GCSE at Grade 4/5 (C) and above including English and maths.

Desirable - Science GCSE Grade 5/5 and above an advantage.

Future Prospects:

To become a fully trained and qualified Machining Technician with Unibloc.

As with all apprenticeships, this requires a long-term commitment - there will be assignments and logbook entries to complete. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a top company, whilst you work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
