Overview:

Working with a third party apprenticeship team we are looking for someone to join our team as a commis chef apprentice. Using the market-leading specialist apprenticeship and training provider for the UK's hospitality industry, we will improve your skills, increase your efficiency and productivity, and enable innovation.

The Course:

Working as a Commis Chef is a great way of getting started in a kitchen and this apprenticeship focuses on food preparation and basic cooking tasks under the supervision of a more senior chef.

Underpinned by a series of kitchen masterclasses, and culinary and development workshops, you will learn and understand how to carry out basic functions in every section of the kitchen.

The learning journey will vary considerably from one individual to the next, however, it is the range of experiences in the basics gained in this role that provide the opportunities to progress to any future senior chef role.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

Skills

Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with team members and management. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new recipes that delight customers.

Pay: 8.46-13.58 per hour
