Observe and understand roles performed in the workshop as well as on site when required. To be able to retain and reproduce skills learned both on the job and during study.
Main Duties;
Work toward obtaining CAP certificate
Observe a fully competent CAP certified engineer perform service and maintenance on machinery;
Complete service records and file correctly under supervision of CAP engineer;
Notify workshop foreman of any damaged machines;
Complete damage/repair paperwork thoroughly;
Inform workshop Foreman of all machines serviced/repaired;
Observe a fully competent CAP certified engineer perform LOLER;
Ensure machines are kept to APL's high standards at all times;
Complete all onsite service paperwork and to be signed off by fully CAP certified engineer;
Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop and onsite at all times;
Show good preventative maintenance ability;
Can show good health and safety practice to yourself and others;
Good communication skills with customers and suppliers;
Ability to share skills with junior members of the workshop;
Show ability to improve working conditions or raise any health and safety issues to management immediately;
To be able to work independently and as part of a team;
Have a good understanding of cost control;
Maintain any company vehicle allocated to a high, clean and serviceable standard always;
Maintain stock of spares carried on the vehicle;
Keep personal appearance smart and clean at all times.
