As the Apprentice Engineer you will learn and obtain experience in the fundamentals of mechanical and electrical engineering through a combination of off-the-job training and secondment roles across the business.
Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship you will be taught the key engineering skills and gain the experience required in varying engineering roles at Chemring Countermeasures.
The responsibilities of the role include
(but are not limited to):
To comply with all health and safety procedures and regulations laid down by the company and to demonstrate a commitment to health and safety
College attendance and successful completion of coursework and exams
Minimum completion of a level 3 engineering qualification
Gaining a wider understanding of the business through placements across various departments
Gain knowledge & experience in lean manufacturing tools and techniques: problem solving, loss analysis and continuous improvement etc
Undertake small projects to develop and demonstrate competency in technical and analytical aspects
Develop a good understanding of process, plant and equipment across the business
To train in the provision of buildings, services, tooling, and equipment in support of the production programme
To train in the setting up and carrying out of initial running of new processes. Including process documentation
Apprentice Engineer Specification:
Right to live and work in the UK
Level 2 qualifications E.g GCSE A-C or grades 4-9 in Maths, English and Science
Must not be colour blind
IT Skills
Knowledge of basic Engineering principle
