Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Forklift Engineer based at our Skelmersdale Office

The apprentice will be working alongside experienced engineers, to help develop knowledge and skills as a materials handling equipment engineer, whilst studying with an accredited college to gain a formal qualification

Specific Learning includes:



Fault finding and repair Servicing Testing Electrical and Mechanical engineering Hydraulics Health & Safety in the Workplace

Future prospects:



Successful completion of this apprenticeship may lead to permanent employment. Further in-house and external training and development available.

Other Information:



Any offer of apprenticeship/employment will be subject to successful completion of a colour vision assessment. Qualifications required: 5 GCSE grades C / 4 or equivalent inc English, Maths, Science Materials Handling Equipment Apprenticeships normally last three years during which time you will attend the SMB Coalville Training Centre on block release mixed with either mini blocks or day release for basic training and further education. The remainder of your time will be spent with your employer, training in Engineering. SMB will monitor your Apprenticeship on a regular basis to ensure you achieve the standards required including mandatory requirements, core skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours in preparation for your end point assessment. Assessment, and interviews will be held at a Carrylift depot with an Operations Manager. You must be able to travel to both your place of work, and the SMB training centre in Coalville. Driving licence would be an advantage and is preferred.
