Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Apprentice Heating Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical systems, plumbing, and the use of various tools. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing heating systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Duties
Install, service, and repair heating systems including boilers, radiators, and underfloor heating
Conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to assemble and modify components
Perform plumbing tasks related to heating systems ensuring compliance with safety regulations
Troubleshoot mechanical issues using technical knowledge and basic maths calculations
Carry out heavy lifting of equipment and materials safely and efficiently
Assist in the assembly of new heating units and related components
Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards and industry regulations
Experience
Heating Engineer or similar role within the HVAC or plumbing sectors
Proficiency in welding, carpentry, plumbing, and the use of hand tools and power tools
Mechanical knowledge of heating systems, including boilers and radiators
Experience with assembly processes for heating units or related equipment
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively over extended periods
Valid driving licence for commercial driving is advantageous but not essential
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to system installation and repair
