We are offering an exciting opportunity where you "earn and learn". This apprenticeship pathway will give you the hands-on experience, knowledge and confidence to lead you into your chosen career and give you the chance to fully realise your potential within a fast paced and proactive organisation.
What you will need:
As a member of the IT team, you will assist them in providing skilled and efficient support for desktop hardware and systems throughout the council and its partner organisations. You will learn how to build, install and maintain PC workstations and with experience become involved in resolving tickets on our Helpdesk. You will assist with IT aspects of office moves, provide general administrative support to the IT function as well as experiencing working within the wider IT team.
Whilst working, you will complete a Level 3 qualification, for which you will be entitled to paid study time to complete; this is linked to the national apprenticeship scheme. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, learning and developing new skills whilst building your confidence along the way.
You don't need any work experience, but you will need to be willing to learn, demonstrate good communication and IT skills and have GCSE's 9 to 4 (formerly A*-C) in Maths, English and IT or equivalent. A Diploma or A level in Computing - level 3 would be beneficial for this role but not essential. You must also meet the requirements to be eligible for an apprenticeship. In return we offer a variety of excellent benefits, together with support and supervision.
If you are starting out in your career or looking for an opportunity to pursue a new career we would be interested in hearing from you.
