You'll complete a 22-month programme to achieve a Level 3 Information Communication Technician apprenticeship
Choosing a career is a big deal, right?
There are different options to consider, questions to ask.
So, to help make your decision that bit easier, let's start with this question: What's important to you?
We asked our current apprentices the same question and here's what they had to say:
Using the latest tech
Career progression with tailored support
A qualification without the debt
Working in an environment where you're recognised for your abilities
If some of these resonate with you, you're in the right place.
You'll get involved in real-world projects, delivery and workload. With a hands on approach, and with all the support you require, you will be treated as a full member of the team and get the opportunity to work with production enterprise IT. This involves Desktop Device Management Software, Virtualisation Software, Datacentre Hardware, Switches, Routers and associated network components and enterprise applications.
Whilst on the programme, you will have the full support of all members of the department, with a dedicated mentor for technical support, and a buddy to support you with navigating the world of a corporate environment.
More About You
You'll already have or be predicted to achieve by September 2026:
GCSE grade 4/C or above in English Language and Maths or equivalent functional skills (Level 2).
You'll also have:
A keen interest in IT and a desire to learn and develop.
Your Personal Skills
You will be the type of person who:
Is creative. Your curiosity and own style of thinking will bring a different perspective.
Enjoys being part of a team. You'll share your ideas and learn from others.
Wants to make a difference. You understand the importance of what we do and take pride in doing your best even in challenging situations.
Is open minded. You're willing to try something new, to improve and learn along the way.
Behaves with integrity. You will be professional, honest and reliable.
The Scheme
You'll complete a 22-month programme to achieve a Level 3 Information Communication Technician apprenticeship. Your time will be split between 'on the job' work within our department and a specialist training provider, who will provide theoretical learning to enhance your development in the office.
Throughout the programme you'll undertake various mentored work placements and customer projects which will give you hands-on experience to back up your educational training. You will undertake placements within the service desk, desktop support, server infrastructure, network infrastructure and application support teams, each providing a different insight into the world of IT and offering a unique opportunity to build an array of IT skills.
On completion of the scheme, you'll have a solid foundation to begin your career as an IT Technician. You'll find yourself in one of our teams depending on what you enjoy and your skill set.
