We are looking for two enthusiastic, friendly, and motivated apprentices to join our technical team within Glass Technology Services.

Glass Technology Services is a globally recognised provider of glass testing, analysis and research and development based in North Sheffield. We have more than 250 customers worldwide in a range of sectors including glass manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, food and drink brand owners, construction and retailers.

We have an exciting career opportunity to join our technical teams on a level 3 laboratory technician apprenticeship programme. The successful candidate will benefit from development and mentorship from a collaborative and innovative team of professionals, experts and other accomplished former apprentices. You will gain formal level 3 qualifications through a fully supported and funded Laboratory apprenticeship programme. The skills developed during a successful apprenticeship will inevitably open doors to access a wider range of technical careers, with lifelong and futureproof skills. You will:

undertake laboratory duties, including preparation of samples. work as a team, supporting colleagues with glass testing and analysis be trained to carry out a range of technical work across different departments utilising various methods such as Titrations, sample milling, glass polishing and use of scientific instruments. transpose test results, and prepare customer test reports, ensuring a high attention to detail undertake maintenance and calibration of analytical and testing equipment maintain clear and accurate records of work carried out ensure work is carried out safely, following safe systems of work and risk assessments
Working across all the technical teams in GTS, you will gain valuable communication, report writing and time management skills, alongside getting to know our business services and laboratory work, becoming a valued and active team member. Progression, development and additional responsibilities are available for the right candidate. This role may occasionally require some external travel within the UK, and potentially overseas.

This busy role requires good prioritisation and organisation skills, along with a professional approach and a real team work ethic. The successful candidate will have a passion for science and technology with minimum grade C or 4 GCSEs in Science and Maths. We'd like you to be:
