Level 3 Apprentice Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Standard - Control and Instrumentation Technician

We are recruiting for an Apprentice Service Engineer to join our Aftersales Team. Our Service Engineers work across the country installing, maintaining and repairing material handling equipment and Locker Feeders. As well as working with big bulky mechanical equipment, Locker feeders require an electrical knowledge bias so, training will be provided in both electrical and mechanical fields, ultimately resulting becoming a multi-skilled engineer.

What does the job role involve?



Performing maintenance to conveyance handling equipment Inspection and measurement techniques Be proficient in understanding and reading drawings Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty and fast-paced. Assembling components using hand fitting techniques Troubleshooting and problem solving Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyance machinery and equipment. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and perform timely repairs to minimise production downtime. Install new machinery and mechanical systems, including alignment, calibration, and testing. Perform routine inspections of mechanical systems to identify issues before they become problems. Maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports. Build and test new machines Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Ensure tools and workshop equipment are maintained in good working order. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise equipment efficiency. Assist in sourcing spare parts and liaising with suppliers as needed. Work alongside a team of experienced engineers providing technical support Work safely, with regard for your duty of care to yourself and to others who may be affected by your work. Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times. Keep others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department or company.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?



As well as gaining a broad range of professional knowledge and experience, you will gain academic and vocational qualifications. The apprentice will also achieve Level 3 NVQ Diploma in engineering maintenance as well as a Level 3 sub diploma in engineering technologies.

Upon successfully completing your apprenticeship the options are endless. You could continue to develop your career by choosing to obtain further qualifications, develop and improve your management and leadership skills or even move across the different areas of the business to pursue a career in your chosen field.

Qualifications:



We are seeking applications from candidates who have or are predicted to gain 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be A-C / 9-5 for Maths and A-C / 9-4 for English, Science and two other subjects.
