Jas P Wilson are UK based forestry & firewood machinery suppliers and engineers. Established in 1964, we now serve customers throughout the UK, Europe and beyond from our base in Dalbeattie, South-West Scotland. We stock Firewood Processors, Log splitters, kindling machines, Botex timber loaders/trailers, winches, chippers, harvesters & forwarders parts & more! We are the agents for a range of forestry-based machinery franchises including Posch, Krpan, Botex, Lasco, Igland, Keto, SP, TP ,JAK, and FAE to name a few.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an

Apprentice Parts Advisor

to join our team in Dalbeattie. The role is a full time, permanent position (Contracted to 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00). As an Apprentice Parts Advisor you will be joining an established spare parts department and supporting inward stock deliveries, picking and packing products from our vast product line to complete customer's orders, and... ensuring your attention to detail on each order is right first time. Our Parts Apprentice may also support the wider team throughout the company by distributing incoming goods to different internal departments. As a Apprentice Parts Advisor you would have a responsibility to provide excellent customer service on the trade counter for all internal, and external customers.
Rate of pay will be in line with; government guidelines for apprentices, based on age and apprenticeship stage. (Wage range 7.44 - 12.21)

Main duties and responsibilities are highlighted below; but not limited to:

Receive, check, and store incoming spare parts deliveries.

Pick, pack, and dispatch orders accurately and in a timely manner.

Booking out goods to internal workshop staff.

Creation of purchase orders and recording goods in/out using company software.

Ensure that all parts are correctly logged into the inventory management system.

Assisting with input of stock data into ERP system.

Assist with regular stock checks and annual stock audits.

Collaborate with all departments to ensure seamless operations.

Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues related to spare parts orders.

Forklift use for loading/unloading goods.

Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (training will be provided).

Assist in the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.

High levels of manual handling (training will be provided).

Wrapping pallets.

Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe environment in the parts department.

Ensure compliance with company health and safety regulations.

Provide support in other areas of the parts department as required.

Key skills & knowledge:

Self-motivated individual who is committed to undertaking a parts apprenticeship.

Computing skills required, however full training will be given on specific software.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to work independently, and as part of a team.

Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Willing to learn good customer service and organisational skills.

Prepared to undertake forklift training.
