Apprentice Plant Fitter

Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 8GJ

We are looking for Apprentice Plant Fitters to join the

UK's largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor

.

You will learn how to fix and maintain our fleet of Piling rigs and associated plant. Following a structured training plan and studying Land Based Service Engineering (L3) at Reaseheath College along the way. This is a perfect opportunity to gain valuable experience and to begin your career working alongside a vastly experienced team

What you will learn

Engines (Petrol/Diesel and Hybrid) Transmission Systems Hydraulic / Pneumatic Systems Electrical and Electronic Systems Welding and fabrication Management practices and Health / Safety Diagnostic techniques / methodology Inspection, Fault Finding and Repair methodology Maintenance and repair of Construction based plant / equipment Machine operation for maintenance purposes Steering, Brake and Fuel systems (and ancillary systems)

Key Requirements

A desire to learn and develop with the job. Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly. A desire, passion, and willingness for how things work and interact is key Good organisational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy Preferably 3 GCSE's at grade 4 or above including Maths and English Ability to work under pressure Willingness to work flexibly to support the overall aims of the team and changing priorities

Other Requirements:

Eligible to work and live in the UK. Flexibility to travel in the UK. A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable)
