Apprentice Vehicle Damage Assessor

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the transport and logistics sector, working alongside qualified assessors to support driver training and development. As part of this apprenticeship, you'll work towards a nationally recognized qualification and develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to become a qualified Driver Assessor.

Duties



Have a basic understanding of the modern vehicles. Be capable of inspecting and assessing damaged vehicles. Be prepared to learn to build accurate estimates and safe repair methods using computerised estimating systems such as Audatex and Thatcham Escribe data. Learn our Bodyshop management systems. Learn to negotiate with customers and engineers to agree repair costings and any additional supplementary work required. Keep customers updated during the repair process. Learn to produce workshop job schedules whilst liaising regularly with workshop staff to update the repair process. Liaise with parts supplier to ensure correct parts are ordered and delivered. Excellent communication skills as the majority of authorisations are negotiated remotely. High level of personal and professional integrity.

Experience



A full UK driving licence (minimum of 12 months driving experience preferred). A genuine interest in vehicles. Strong communication and observation skills. A proactive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. Ability to work well as part of a team and independently. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (grade C/4 or above preferred).
