Job Description

The Apprenticeships Unit are responsible for supporting the development, recruitment and delivery of degree apprenticeships. We currently work with over 400 employers and over 3000 apprentices. The Apprenticeships Unit is an exciting and dynamic team working across the University and with apprenticeship employers to deliver high quality and industry relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.



We are now seeking to recruit an Apprenticeships ILR Funding Officer to support the delivery of degree apprenticeships from the initial applicant stage through to successful completion of programmes. The purpose of this role is to provide high quality, effective and professional support activities for the Apprenticeship Unit's apprentice data management service. The overall objective is to ensure that the data management systems and processes of the Apprenticeship Unit are in line with internal and external requirements, to ensure all returns and submissions are completed in a timely manner and to liaise with appropriate university departments, as required.



This role would be well suited to candidates with excellent attention to detail, who work well in a team environment and have excellent customer services skills.





Typically, you will:




Ensure ILRs are accurately maintained and submitted in a timely manner. Work collaboratively with members of the Apprenticeship Unit and colleagues from Finance and other areas in order to deliver timely audit reports and ensure all ESFA and other compliance requirements are met. Develop administrative systems to facilitate shared information across the team and provide effective delivery, including financial administration, quality monitoring and the capture of market intelligence data. Proactively update employer and apprentice contact details and maintain accurate records from student application through registration to programme completion. Provide apprenticeship reports and initial analysis to underpin operations and update management and key stakeholders as required to deliver the strategy effectively. Update relevant databases to support apprentice management ensuring that all records are promptly and accurately maintained. Support the End Point Assessment process, following strict DfE and University guidance.



To be successful in this role you will have:




Knowledge of apprenticeship or similar funding methodology. Experience of maintaining apprentice and employer records using student records Management Information (MIS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. Experience of recording apprentice funding information including tracking and recording employer payments as part of Individualised Learner Record Returns. Knowledge and understanding of external compliance and audit requirements. Proficiency in working with standard office IT applications, such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, as well as the ability to learn how to access and interrogate in-house systems. Excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own work managing competing priorities.
