to join our team at our Runcorn Data Centre!

What to expect:




Installation & Commissioning:




Install and modify electrical systems including containment (tray, ladder, conduit), power, and lighting. Carry out 1st and 2nd fix installations. Commission electrical systems and ensure proper documentation.

Maintenance & Fault Finding:




Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance. Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems and equipment. Respond to breakdowns and restore systems promptly.

Testing & Certification:




Conduct electrical testing and inspection in accordance with BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations). Complete relevant certification and documentation (e.g., EICRs, minor works certificates).

Call Out & Standby Duties:




Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota and standby cover. Ensure rapid response to critical faults affecting data centre operations.

Compliance & Safety:




Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies. Maintain high standards of workmanship and site cleanliness. Ensure installations meet current electrical regulations.

Teamwork & Supervision:




Work independently or as part of a team. Supervise subcontractors when required.

What we expect from you:




Essential:


NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent. City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing). 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671). Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in electrical installations. Experience working in live, operational environments (preferably data centres or critical infrastructure). Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:


Experience with BMS, UPS systems, and generator backup. Exposure to high voltage (HV) systems and switching procedures Knowledge of data centre standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, ISO). Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills. High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
