Job Description

Purpose


To ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the arboricultural yard, including the planned and ongoing maintenance and repair of all plant, equipment and vehicles in line with PUWER regulations and industry best practice.

The role facilitates the smooth running of works through effective coordination, communication, and adherence to company procedures to allow the effective use of arboricultural equipment, machinery and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities



Yard Management



Maintain the yard as a safe and efficient worksite. Enforce PPE standards and site rules. Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and environmental compliance. Facilitate timely entry and exit of work teams and vehicles.

Plant & Equipment Maintenance



Oversee planned and reactive maintenance of all plant, tools, and equipment. Ensure compliance with PUWER and other relevant legislation. Monitor and report faults; arrange repairs, servicing, and calibration. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities via

Reflow

. Liaise with suppliers and service providers.

Compliance & Safety



Implement and uphold company policies (Health & Safety, Environmental, Drugs & Alcohol, Quality). Report all accidents, incidents, and substandard events; assist in investigations. Attend toolbox talks, briefings, and training sessions. Ensure personnel working in the yard are competent and medically fit.

Operational Support



Support the Business Support Manager and 5S Planner with equipment booking, fault monitoring, and housekeeping checks. Conduct regular stock takes and maintain inventory levels. Suggest and implement improvements to yard operations and 5S systems. Assist in mentoring new or under performing operatives.

Essential Skills/Membership



Industry experience (2+ years) -Arboriculture equipment and plant maintenance

PUWER awareness and compliance - Demonstrable understanding

Level 1 H&S Training - Relevant to yard and Equipment Safety

Microsoft Office proficiency - For reporting and communication

Desirable

Skills/Membership



Reflow or similar system experience - Maintenance tracking
