Overview

Company is a long-established manufacturer of quality timber garden and leisure buildings.

The company has been working with architects and designers to develop a small range of timber framed modular residential homes and is now looking to hire an extra contract resource to work with existing senior management to:

1. Further develop the designs to complete the range of affordable, energy efficient, rapid-build homes.

2. Research and liaise with specialists and external suppliers on defining the material build-ups.

3. Liaise with the existing production team to incorporate optimal efficiency into the designs.

4. Liaise with external regulators/ advisors to achieve relevant approvals.

The duration and remuneration of the contract will depend upon the candidate but there is significant flexibilty on our part. This may suit a near qualified architect or an experienced architect between full-time roles looking for an exciting project.

We envisage 15 to 25 hours per week and the pay (between 15 and 25 per hour) will depend upon experience level. This stage of work is expected to last 3-6 months and the location of work can be flexible though some time will be required at the factory in Wickford, Essex; to understand the product development to date and work with the existing team.

Requirements

experience of using Revvit, Autocad 3D and/or similar design software excellent technical skills with a practical mindset. an interest in using timber to develop sustainable housing solutions ability to develop solutions/plans to present to and satisfy planning and building regulations A degree or relevant qualification in architecture, interior design, or related fields is preferred but not essential. This role offers an engaging environment where creativity meets technical expertise, providing valuable experience in the field of design across multiple disciplines.
