Job Overview
The position supports our property agency and housing renovation projects by providing expert guidance on design, development, and regulatory compliance. The role blends architectural expertise with project coordination to ensure high-quality outcomes in property sales, refurbishment, and new development projects.
Key responsibilities
- Conducts area research to define character, growth trends, and development needs, and prepares detailed plans and reports to guide land use, housing, and infrastructure projects;
- Reviews development proposals, collaborates with regulatory bodies and stakeholders, and provides informed recommendations to ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and community interests;
- Develops project briefs and schedules, advising clients on procurement methods, environmental impact, legal and regulatory requirements, and manages risk assessments, contracts, and health & safety standards;
- Designs and evaluates building plans and renovation concepts for feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and functionality, including sustainable practices in refurbishment, material recycling, and deconstruction;
- Coordinates with engineers, contractors, and consultants to resolve technical issues, attends site meetings, and offers expert advice on planning, development, and statutory matters throughout project delivery.
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline (e.g., Building Design, Construction Management);
- Knowledge of UK planning regulations, building codes, and statutory requirements related to property development and renovation projects;
- Proficient in preparing architectural designs, technical drawings, and development proposals using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Suite);
- Excellent analytical skills to conduct area research, land use surveys, and market assessments to inform development strategies;
- Strong communication and presentation skills for preparing and delivering reports, proposals, and visual plans to clients and regulatory bodies;
- High level of attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and capability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
- Mandarin language skills would be an advantage to support communication with Mandarin-speaking clients and suppliers.
