Primary Secondary Design (PSD) is an Architectural design practice based in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, which specialises in delivering Healthcare and Social Housing.
Established in 2003, PSD has been responsible for designing over 650,000 square feet of schemes which consist of Healthcare, social housing, apartments, Nurseries and offices.
Currently, PSD has a multiphase project currently on site consisting of over 100,000 square feet. With a 20mn scheme in planning at the moment and multiple projects in their infancy, PSD are looking for someone to fulfil a technical role. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team at an established company with a track record that speaks for itself.
PSD is part of a group of companies owned by the same common owner. Therefore, you will be working alongside colleagues in Healthcare and Community Construction (HCC), our in-house main contractor, and Medcentres PLC, our in-house developer. PSD is solely designed for HCC and the development team at Medcentres PLC.
This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of an architectural design practice that's fully integrated across the entire project lifecycle, allowing you to be involved from RIBA Stage 0 - 7, from concept and planning through to delivery and handover. In this role, you will experience all elements of a development and see what you've drawn as a concept, delivered on-site and have responsibility for various parts of the entire journey of a project, not just one element.
Day-to-day responsibilities are likely to include the following
Producing
high-quality technical and construction drawings
using
AutoCAD.
Developing detailed packages for planning and construction.
Working closely with the construction and development teams to resolve site queries, manage revisions, and ensure buildability.
Coordinating input from external consultants and reviewing design packages from specialist subcontractors
Attending site visits and design coordination meetings.
Ensuring compliance with the latest Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act and client design specifications
Preparing, contributing to and submitting planning applications
Assisting with design presentations and marketing materials
What PSD are looking for
Strong experience inresidential and/or healthcare buildings
A deep understanding of UK building regulations, the Building Safety Act, technical standards and NHBC guidelines.
Proficient in
AutoCAD
Experience liaising with contractors and an understanding of how designs translate to site.
A proactive, can-do attitude with excellent communication skills.
Bonus if you have experience or interest in
graphic design, marketing
, or early-stage concept visuals.

Salary range will be commensurate with your experience.
