Trewin Design Architects are a well-established, forward-thinking architectural practice based in North Devon. With a proud history spanning over five decades, we have built a strong reputation across the South West for delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality design solutions.

We are currently looking to strengthen our technical team with a talented Chartered Architectural Technician (CIAT) who has excellent Revit skills and a passion for quality design and construction.

The Role


As a key member of our technical design team, you will be responsible for the delivery of detailed design and construction information across a range of projects. You'll work collaboratively with architects, designers, and consultants to bring ideas to life -- from planning through to completion and be expected to integrate sustainable strategies into their technical work to support the practice's commitment to environmentally responsible architecture.

Key Responsibilities:



Produce detailed technical drawings and construction packages using Revit Oversee the coordination of technical design across all project stages Prepare and submit planning and building regulation applications Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure efficient project delivery Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, Building Safety and construction standards Demonstrate a sound understanding of environmental design principles and sustainability within the built environment, including knowledge of current UK Building Regulations (Part L and O), energy efficiency, material selection, and low-carbon construction methods.

Essential Requirements:



Member of CIAT/RIBA or working towards chartered membership Experience in UK residential design and construction (new builds, extensions, conversions) Advanced proficiency in Revit and familiarity with BIM workflows Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, Building Safety, and construction methods Strong technical detailing and problem-solving skills Clear and confident communication and collaboration skills Sound knowledge of sustainable design principles, environmental standards and sustainability within the built environment
