Are you an Architectural Technician/Technologist looking to grow your career in a supportive, design-led practice? At Stuart King Architecture & Design, we're looking for an Architectural Technician to join our friendly, collaborative team, supporting a range of residential and commercial projects in both architectural and energy performance areas.

The Role



This is a dual-focus role for an experienced Architectural Technologist who is keen to broaden their skillset into energy and sustainability. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality technical design packages across residential and commercial projects, while being supported to develop skills in SAP and SBEM energy assessments alongside our Energy Consultant team.

Key responsibilities include:



Producing Details technical drawings and specifications for residential and commercial projects Developing and coordinating technical design packages from planning through to construction Working closely with architects, consultants and clients to deliver compliant buildable solutions Learning and supporting the production of SAP/SBEM Calculations (training provided) Assisting the wider technical team with energy and sustainability inputs

What We're Looking For



Essential - Architectural Technologist Experience



Proven experience working as an Architectural Technologist/Technician on residential and/or commercial projects Strong technical knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing Proficiency in technical design and modelling software (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp) Experience producing detailed construction information and coordinated drawing packages Ability to manage workloads across multiple projects and deadlines Confident communication skills and experience liaising with clients and consultants A proactive, organised approach with strong problem-solving skills

Desirable (but not essential):



Exposure to SAP and/or SBEM calculations (formal accreditation not required) Understanding of building fabric, thermal performance, and energy-efficient design Experience working with or alongside energy consultants or sustainability teams Familiarity with energy modelling or compliance tools (e.g. Elmhurst, IES, or similar) Interest in developing skills in building performance and sustainability
This role is ideal for an experienced Architectural Technologist who wants to broaden their skillset into energy, sustainability, and compliance work, with structured support and progression.
