Job Description

Sonabuild Joinery are seeking to add a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist with a passion for bespoke high end joinery to our team. As the in-house Architectural Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of joinery projects. You will work closely with architects and other professionals to create accurate and precise technical drawings and models.

Duties:
- Collaborate with architects and designers to develop architectural designs
- Create detailed technical drawings using CAD software
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and details
- Conduct site visits to gather measurements and assess project feasibility
- Assist in the coordination of project specifications and requirements
- Utilize software such as Sketchup and AutoCAD to create 3D models and renderings
- Prepare presentations to effectively communicate design concepts
- Collaborate with workshop & site teams to ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets
- Support project management activities as needed

Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD)
- Experience with 3D modeling software (Sketchup)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with joinery fabrication processes and materials
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles
