About the team

GSK Pharma Europe delivered a very strong growth of +21% in 2022 to reach a total sale of \xc2\xa3+5bn driven by strong performance across our business areas. To maximize the future ambition for Europe and drive continued growth across all markets and deliver as \xe2\x80\x9cOne Europe\xe2\x80\x9d, a new structure with 2 New Areas (North/West Area and South/Central Area) including all the non-Eu5 markets has been created.

To reflect the increased opportunities for growth and Area accountabilities to contribute to the European agenda and drive performance, culture, and delivery a new position as Commercial Operations Director has been created for each of the 2 Areas.

Area Commercial Operations Director, Southern & Central Europe

Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Be a thought partner to the Area Head and Area LT, proactively raising improvement potential and autonomously design and execute Area initiatives to drive performance and efficiency
  • Develop relevant agendas for Core Leadership, and Cross Functional Leadership teams, aligned to the Area and regional priorities and leadership team charter
  • Drive High Performance Team culture underpinned by GSK values, and embed behaviours for effective communication, decision making with clear accountabilities for delivery
  • Responsible for oversight and management of large strategic projects across the organization. Establish credibility as a trusted partner for market GMs and teams
  • Docking point for regional activities and projects, roll out of new policies/standards while ensuring fit for purpose for the Area with effective management of risks and governance oversight
  • Build an extensive network and strong relationships with key internal partners and stakeholders and bring external ideas and benchmarks into GSK
  • Build framework for effective reporting tools and processes for performance tracking aligned to the Global-Regional-Market performance reviews, coordination and delivery of the Area MPR reviews and Area plan review preparation
  • Identify / align on relevant KPIs and definition of metrics across the portfolio in collaboration with Global, EU Regional, and local market teams
  • Ensure availability and sharing of relevant internal and external data, benchmarks, and insights to help drive effective operational excellence and form effective performance discussions that identify / quantify opportunities and risks, and that support the evolution of the business strategy
  • Co-ordination of Launch Readiness and Launch Optimization reviews in close collaboration with Global, EU TA Heads and market launch leads. Leading or participating in deep dives as required to address specific issues and opportunities
  • Advancing omnichannel and other initiatives to drive sales and marketing capabilities based on global/regional frameworks
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement or best practice for sharing/standardisation to enhance performance across the Area
Qualifications
  • University degree
  • Solid commercial experience within the pharmaceutical industry, ideally from market and above country
  • Highly capable to drive performance management
  • Creative in problem solving and strong in Commercial decision making and wining execution
  • Experience in data driven decision making and strong analytical skills to be capable to identify key points across multiple data source
  • Proven ability to set direction, inspire and lead others across the business and create effective network across functional areas
  • Demonstrated ability to take multiple inputs to define strategy and create/deliver solutions to drive improvement in performance
  • Robust understanding of Sales Force Effectiveness principles and GSK Marketing framework
  • Solid project management capabilities and program management, prioritizing and managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to define and shape best practice through looking both internally and externally to GSK
  • Effective communication, including presentation skills. Fluent in English
