Global Commercial Operations Director, GPS, Specialty Care

As a Commercial Operations Director, you will play a key role and will be a member of the GSK Global Pharma, Specialty & Primary Care Therapy Business Unit. The role reports directly into the Director, Strategy & Operations and will ideally be based in London, UK.

Specialty Care is a driver of future GSK growth. GPS comprises the global commercial team \xe2\x80\x93 and the role of GPS is to set the direction and ambition for our medicines, define the future treatment landscape and ensure the unmet needs of patients are met. The role of the Operations Director, GPS \xe2\x80\x93 Specialty Care is to identify and drive opportunities to accelerate GPS. This includes strategic planning, performance reporting, and governance readiness which are critical deliverables and milestones to set the future direction for the business. In addition, this role will be accountable for driving a clear ambitious congress strategy which is a critical platform for how GSK Specialty Care is represented externally, with both customers, payers and patients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategic planning process and content across all major assets at all stages of the product life cycle \xe2\x80\x93 drive continuous improvement, ambition, and maximise the value of key assets. This includes plan creation, marketing excellence and strategic thinking. Working with COEs and external suppliers as needed to drive quality of outcome.
  • Lead performance reporting to include MPRs, and involvement in QBRs. Proactively identify areas for improvement or best practice for sharing/standardisation to enhance performance across GPS.
  • Drive governance readiness \xe2\x80\x93 ensure appropriate governance is in place for major assets, working with the cross-functional team to ensure timeliness of review, with appropriate tracking and monitoring.
  • Define and deliver a clear and robust Congress Strategy to maximise the presence of GSK and Specialty Care at major congresses. This will require working with assets both in Specialty Care GPS and beyond (i.e. Gen Meds and vaccines) and setting a clear strategy, compelling narrative and maximising the external presence of GSK at these critical events.
  • Be a thought partner to the Specialty Care Director of Strategy & Operations, proactively raising improvement potential and autonomously designing and executing projects to drive performance and efficiency.
  • Run strategic projects to improve commercial and/or operational performance.

Basic qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree in Commercial Operations, Programme & Change Management. MBA is desirable.
  • Deep commercial leadership experience e.g. marketing director or BU Head, strategy lead, commercial operations, project management or related areas.
  • Experience in leading strategy implementation and change.
  • High personal impact and credibility at senior LT level.
  • Strong people agility, influencing skills and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrable evidence of multi-cultural sensitivity is an asset. Capable of working across boundaries and functional areas.
  • High resilience.
  • Creative in problem solving.
  • Strong business experience & demonstrated ability at making complex initiatives happen (e.g. complex project management).
  • Commercial decision making and wining execution.
  • Effective communication, including presentation skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal networking skill at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical skill.
  • Strategic thinker \xe2\x80\x93 ability to connect different elements together.
  • Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Line management experience preferred.
  • Management consulting experience would be beneficial.
  • Previous regional/global function and experience in major organization are preferred.
  • Mindset: Resilience, Passion to drive and improve, Able to connect the dots, comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Credible externally as the \xe2\x80\x9cface of GSK\xe2\x80\x9d.
  • Willingness to travel if needed.
