Area Manager Van Sales - Mid Ulster



We are a food production business, based in Ballymena and celebrating over 50 years producing and distributing premium products across three established and market leading brands.

Managing a Fleet of up to 12 vehicles and with vision for the fleet to grow, you'll know your way around a van, you'll be confident managing the van sales team and with your experience you'll bring a discipline and commitment to process, procedure and demanding of the very highest levels of compliance.

ROLE:



Reporting to our Van Sales and Fleet Manager, the successful candidate for this diverse and challenging role will be responsible for the achievement of Revenue & Distribution Targets, including the management and control of waste, excellent Customer Service Team Leadership & Motivation and supporting the recruitment of the very best Sales people.

Key areas of Responsibility



Leadership



Manage, Inspire & Lead a team of Van Sales Reps, including recruitment, induction, training, supervision, coaching and performance management of the team.

Provide guidance and direction to your team in the management of their waste, with specific product and customer information.

Efficient organising of your Van Sales Team by reviewing and implementing consistent and effective route plans.

To manage weekly Rotas, timesheets and holiday cover for all Van Sales / Relief team.

Ensure adequate time is spent out with the Van Sales team in the van and conducting Van Sales Audits on a monthly basis.

When necessary, provide cover for Van Sales Reps.

Sales



Achievement of the sales budget and targets through your Van Sales Reps.

To ensure that adequate supplies of stock are always available, and best practice in-store is always adhered to.

Canvassing new calls to develop sales and optimise effectiveness of our sales strategy.

Build and maintain key strong and trusting working relationships with our customers to increase core and extended range stocked in store.

To report competitor activity to Van Sales and Fleet Manager & Van Sales colleagues.

Communicate with Key Accounts when required.

Compliance & Fleet Management



Management of the van sales fleet. Ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and safe to drive, working in conjunction with our Office Co-ordinator and taking responsibility for organising Repairs, Servicing, MOT's and Road Tax in compliance with currently legislation.

Ensuring drivers complete daily vehicle checks to confirm vans are at a safe and legal standard to drive.

To ensure Company vehicles are kept clean, tidy & in a safe condition.

Ensure operational compliance through management of your team's daily controls i.e. - stock, banking, paperwork, missed calls, service rate, waste etc.

To follow the Company's Health & Safety, Logistics and Food Hygiene requirements.

To complete all necessary paperwork / emails to the agreed standard and timings.

Any other duties as delegated by the Van Sales and Fleet Manager.

Skills Required



Excellent written & verbal skills in English

PC Literate

This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week. The role is Monday to Friday based.
