Area Operations Manager - Bow Hospitality (Bar & Restaurant Venues)

Role Overview
The Area Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in supporting the General Managers with the day-to-day running of the venues. This position is ideal for a hospitality professional with strong operational experience, people management skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. You'll act as a key driver of team performance, guest satisfaction, and operational consistency across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support & Leadership
Lead daily operations across bar, kitchen, and front-of-house to ensure smooth service delivery.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Support the GM in implementing SOPs and operational systems.
Allocate time weekly for back-of-house tasks including audits, stock checks, and planning using specific software.
Team Management & Development
Supervise and motivate staff during service, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling during peak periods.
Deliver on-the-job training and conduct regular service standard checks.
Foster a positive, inclusive team culture aligned with Bow's values.
Guest Experience
Champion Bow's customer service standards and lead by example.
Handle guest complaints and service issues with professionalism and empathy.
Monitor online feedback and support the GM in responding constructively.
Ensure staff are trained and confident in delivering memorable guest experiences.
Financial Awareness
Support the GM in managing labour costs and stock control using Rotaking and Purchase Warrior.
Assist with weekly revenue forecasting and cost tracking.
Monitor daily sales performance and flag variances or opportunities.
Sales & Marketing Execution
Contribute ideas for promotions, events, and guest engagement.
Assist in planning and posting monthly social media content.
Monitor effectiveness of campaigns and provide feedback to the GM and marketing team.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure daily health & safety, fire safety, and cleanliness checks are completed using
Logit.
Maintain awareness of licensing laws and ensure staff compliance.
Support the GM in keeping
COSHH
and risk assessments up to date.
Reporting
Will report weekly to company director
