Job Purpose

The Northern Ireland Area Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Area Manager in ensuring Operations associated with the Security function for the BBC Northern Ireland contract runs smoothly and efficiently throughout. They are to ensure all relevant data is managed accurately and effectively. This involves recruitment, training, management of Security staff and all other Operational matters. The Area Supervisor will assist the Area Manager in being responsible for creating and maintaining an excellent business relationship with the BBC client and other Key Stakeholders. Importantly, they are responsible for ensuring the business meets it monthly contractual KPI\'s.

The role relies heavily on strong judgment, excellent people and Operations management skills, professionalism, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • To take a pivotal role as the essential representative between the Company and its Client, ensuring that close professional relationships are formed and maintained
  • Ensure that business goal, targets and processes are implemented and followed at all levels of the business Area to ensure overall achievement of Company objectives and monthly contractual KPI\'s
  • Ensure information that contributes to monthly KPI\'s is accurate and true. Any issues regarding the KPI\'s should be flagged in advance to the Senior Management Team
  • To lead by example in areas such as company culture, values, and ethics to provide effective leadership whilst promoting the highest standards of business practice
  • Assist in the development of company policy and strategy to meet the needs of the business and its stakeholders
  • Recruit and develop people within your business area to the highest possible calibre, to ensure that sufficiently competent resources are employed and retained to meet the overall business needs.
  • Develop internal and external relationships to ensure that appropriate resources are available to effectively support the policy and strategy of the business
  • Implement Company management systems within your business units to ensure that policy and strategy targets are met whilst generating increased value and efficiency for customers and stakeholders
  • Support the business in ensuring Site Assignment Instructions within the business Area are correct and up to date.
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum of 3 years\' experience in a security or similar management role
  • Valid SIA License
  • 5-year checkable education/work history and references
  • Experience gained in a corporate security, critical national infrastructure, Police or Military environment
  • Awareness of the law within the Private Security Industry
  • Good knowledge of security procedures including, Health & Safety, Emergency, Access Control, Patrolling, Searches, relevant technology etc.
  • Excellent communicator, able to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Experienced in conflict resolution
  • Confident and professional, able to motivate and support teams where required
  • Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of practical administrative principles and practices within a complex, commercial, multi-divisional organisation (inc. screening, vetting, and licensing)
  • Understanding of HR procedures is advantageous
  • Good understanding or working knowledge of Security Industry
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
