Applications are invited for a Project Manager to work on Engineering synthetic plant artificial chromosomes (synPACs).
Your responsibilities will include financial administration of the project, organisation of regular meetings at Manchester and with the wider project team, preparation of progress reports, and coordination of the interactions with research groups, industrialists and other stakeholders outside the core project. Alongside administrative responsibilities, you will actively contribute to the scientific progress of the project, engaging with team members on design of experiments and biological units, and interpretation of results. You will also oversee cohesion between interdependent research lines, ensuring efficient progress towards overall project goals.
You will be based at the MIB at the University of Manchester, working in the group of Professor Patrick Cai. You will have good administrative experience, with strong organisational and team working skills, and the ability to multi-task and work independently.
This is a full time position, although part-time / flexible working / secondment applications will also be considered.
