Job summary
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs over 12,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. The Household Cavalry are seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the post of Admin Officer Regimental HQ Clerk working from our headquarters building in Wing Barracks, Bulford.

Job description
As Admin Officer, you will become part of a forward-looking organisation with inclusive work environment policies. You will be proactive in providing administrative support to the busy regimental headquarters.
Key responsibilities:
Producing Part One Orders daily and maintaining the repeat orders process.
To be flexible with a 'can do' attitude and always be two steps ahead.
Work independently and have the ability to prioritise tasks in a lively schedule.
IHub/Sharepoint - Authorised Demander role including arranging for password resets and upkeep of Sharepoint structures/content.
Act as secretary to the Unit Health Committee producing Records of Decisions and confirming completion.
Providing direct administrative support to the Commanding Officer through: Managing their diary, arranging and booking all travel, typing correspondence, taking minutes as required.
Acting as the Assistant Personnel Vetting Records Officer ensuring that applications for clearance are submitted and advising personnel on completion.
Covering as the Post Orderly as required.
General administrative and clerical tasks for all departmental meetings and conferences, including call forward, production and distribution of agendas and minutes.
General office stationary management, ensuring stationary consumption regularly monitored for cost effectiveness and wastage to a minimum.
Updating and maintaining RHQ notice boards, with relevant available literature and information.
Maintain the Personal Files of members of the Regiment.
During absences of the Adjutant, the Post Holder is to ensure that all routine matters are dealt with and actioned. Non-routine matters and executive decisions are to be referred to the nominated Officer.
Any other task commensurate with the grade, qualifications and competencies held, as directed by the Line Manager or Countersigning Officer.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, in order to collate, store and present data.
Ability to work independently on own initiative with a flexible and proactive approach to work.
Must have experience of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment including the ability to work calmly to achieve deadlines.
Must have high integrity and act with discretion to deal with confidential matters appropriately.
Communicate confidently with a wide range of people, providing help and advice on enquiries. Must be well organised with good interpersonal and communication skills

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
