Job Overview


The Finance Assistant is responsible to the Assistant Head Finance and is responsible for transactions in the Central Bank, and when time allows, the Grant-in-Aid fund and Charitable Fund. The incumbent is to ensure that bank and Sage actions are accurate and timely, plus all internal Finance control data is correctly recorded

Functional Responsibilities



Accounting for income and expenditure on a daily basis, plus weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and information requests from Central Bank users. Scrutinising payment requests, entering onto Sage and input onto Bankline for payment. Processing of bank receipts, entering onto Sage and updating of control sheet. Updating and monitoring of Live Accounts to ensure up to date information is available to all Central Bank users and provide support to Ops Mgrs/Treasurers. Production of monthly closedown reports (Debtors, Creditors, Accruals and Suspense). Reconciliation of monthly credit card statements and hotel booking accounts. Scrutiny of staff travel expense claims, in accordance with the T&S policy. Provision of audit for individual sports held within the Central Bank. Ensure all records are properly archived at the end of each financial year. An excellent knowledge of Sage is essential. A good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel and an awareness of Sharepoint A knowledge of how a Central Banks works. An understanding of the Army would be desirable but not essential.

Qualifications



Previous experience in an accounting or finance-related role is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting. AAT Level 2 or above is an advantage

Pay: 21,816.00-24,816.00 per year

Expected hours: 32 per week
