The Role
We are looking for an Art Director with 5+ years experience, who is passionate about social media storytelling, visual innovation, and working at pace. You'll be responsible for shaping visual concepts and guiding them all the way through to finished content. You'll collaborate closely with Strategy, Creative, Production, and Client teams to ensure that every piece of content--static, video or motion--is not just beautiful, but strategic and effective.
Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of social-first campaigns that align with brand strategy and client objectives.
Help steer the creative direction across retained and project-based work, ensuring storytelling, craft and performance at the core
Collaborate with clients to present ideas, take on feedback, and help build strong creative partnerships.
Play an active role in internal creative processes and support new business initiatives where needed.
Lead visual ideation for social campaigns: create original concepts, mood boards, styleframes, etc., that align with client brand identity and voice.
Translate campaign briefs into compelling visuals across formats (Instagram, TikTok, Reels, YouTube, Stories, etc.), including static posts, motion graphics, short-form video, carousels etc.
Work closely with copywriters, strategists, videographers, and editors to ensure the visual execution is exceptional.
Oversee art direction on shoots & production: set visual tone, direct styling, photography/videography, lighting, framing etc.
Provide design supervision, reviews and feedback at all stages (from early concepts through final output), maintaining visual consistency and quality.
Ensure coherence of visual branding across multiple clients/projects, keeping brand guidelines, typographic, color, image, layout standards sharp.
Keep ahead of trends in social media design/video/culture -- propose new visual styles, formats, tools to push creative boundaries.
Manage and mentor junior designers / visual creatives: set expectations, review their work, help them grow.
Collaborate with Client teams: present visual ideas to clients; receive, interpret and incorporate feedback.
Help build and refine internal design/art processes, tools, workflows to improve efficiency and quality.
Skills
A standout portfolio showcasing social-first, brand-led creative work -- especially across video, digital and campaign storytelling.
5+ years experience
A deep understanding of social platforms, trends, and audience behaviours, with an instinct for what resonates and performs. What works where, visual formats, constraints, best practices.
Proven experience in art or visual direction for agency / brand campaigns, especially social-first work.
Ability to think conceptually and visually: big ideas, narrative through imagery, visual consistency, storytelling.
Strong conceptual thinker with experience developing and presenting ideas clearly and confidently.
Strong attention to detail: layout, type, color, composition.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a productive and inspiring creative workflow.
Confident communicator with solid client-facing experience.
Proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Slides; and Adobe Creative Suite.
Culturally curious, with an eye for emerging trends, talent, and ideas that move fast in the social space.
Comfortable working in fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects / clients at once, meeting deadlines.
Leadership / mentorship skills: helping junior creatives improve, managing visual standards across a team.
