Hourly Paid Lecturers are responsible for planning courses, delivering inspiring lessons, keeping records of their learners' progress and participating in development activities to enhance their own teaching, learning and assessment skills.
Key Responsibilities
Course Planning: Design and structure engaging art courses tailored to adult learners.
Lesson Delivery: Teach painting and drawing in an inspiring and inclusive manner.
Learner Progress: Monitor and record learner development and achievements.
Professional Development: Participate in training and development activities to enhance teaching practice.
Collaboration: Work with the wider OAL team to support learner success and community engagement.
Essential Experience:
Subject Expertise: Strong knowledge and passion for painting and drawing.
Teaching Experience: Previous experience teaching adults is beneficial but not essential.
Communication: Ability to engage and support learners from varied backgrounds.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel to different venues and teach at varied times.
Commitment to Learning: Openness to gaining a teaching qualification (AET Level 3) if not already held.
Desirable Experience:
Teaching Qualification: AET Level 3 or equivalent (can be gained during first year).
Experience in Adult Education: Particularly in community or leisure learning settings.
