We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a keen interest in food preparation. As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our bakers and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is perfect for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a vibrant kitchen environment.

Duties



o Prepare and bake a range of Chinese and Japanese style breads and buns (e.g. milk bread, Hokkaido soft rolls, red-bean, matcha or savoury fillings). o Mix, knead, proof, shape and bake dough to precise texture and flavour standards. o Develop and test new seasonal recipes in collaboration with the head baker/owner. o Ensure consistent quality, presentation and portion control. o Maintain strict food hygiene, HACCP standards and a clean, organised kitchen. o Manage stock rotation and communicate ingredient requirements to the manager.

Experience



o Professional bakery or pastry training or 2+ years' hands-on bakery experience. o Strong knowledge of yeast-raised doughs, slow fermentation and soft-bread techniques. o Familiarity with Asian flavours and fillings (matcha, black sesame, custards, savoury buns).tting.
