Position Description:



The Assembly Operator (Surface Mount Hand Build) is responsible for the precise hand placement and assembly of surface mount components onto PCBs in accordance with production standards, documentation, and quality guidelines. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the high performance and reliability of our electronic assemblies.

Role and responsibilities



Manually place surface mount components onto PCBs using tweezers. Follow assembly instructions, schematics, and bill of materials (BOMs). Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, alignment, and solder quality. Reflow PCBs using appropriate reflow oven equipment and settings. Work with ESD-sensitive components while adhering to proper handling procedures. Print solder paste onto PCBs either by hand or using stencil printer machines. Operate X-ray inspection machine to verify solder joints and component integrity, particularly for BGAs and hidden joints. Ensure all assembly work complies with IPC-A-610 workmanship standards. Identify and report any defects or quality issues to the team leader or quality department. Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Assist in other assembly or rework processes as needed

Requirements and skills:



Essential:



Conversational level of verbal communication skills in English Prior experience in surface mount assembly or electronic manufacturing preferred. Proficient in using microscopes and small hand tools (tweezers, soldering irons, etc.). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and BOMs. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Familiarity with ESD-safe practices and workplace safety standards. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer literacy for accessing work instructions or logging data.

Desirable:



IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification is a plus. Experience in a contract manufacturing or ISO-certified environment.

Pay: 12.72-15.05 per hour
