Assembly Operative



Classic Retrofit design and manufacture electric air conditioning systems that feature in some of the world's most exciting 'restomods', hypercars, race cars & EV conversions.

Our products are unique, cutting edge, and high quality - we are looking for an enthusiastic Assembly Operative to help our ongoing growth.

We are looking for someone to assist in the assembly, repair, refurbishment, packaging and dispatch of our products from our headquarters near Uckfield, East Sussex.

This is a full-time role 35 hours per week, the working hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday with 45mins lunch and Fridays 8.30am to 12.30pm.

Holiday: 25 days per annum plus normal bank holidays

Salary: 25,000

Job Purpose



The core of the role is the assembly, refurbishment and repair of lightweight electrical and mechanical assemblies (including but not limited to HVAC blower units, compressors, wiring harnesses, electronic control units.)

Responsibilities



Carrying out production processes according to written and verbal work instructions

Assembly of light mechanical/electrical parts

Inspection and testing of finished goods using basic electrical test equipment (full training provided)

Packaging and labelling of finished products and fulfilment of customer orders

Ensuring the work area/stock remains clean, tidy and organised

Maintain accurate stock levels

Complying with Health and Safety requirements

Other similar duties as required

Essential Skills



Proficient in the use of hand tools and light machine tools, the ability to read wiring and mechanical assembly diagrams.

Basic computer skills (for stock control/labelling/couriers etc.)

Personal Skills and approach



An excellent attention to detail, an aptitude for practical tasks and a willingness to learn new skills is required. We are a small team, and as such a degree of flexibility is required - so candidates need to be able to help the team at short notice, for example we may have a vehicle to prepare before a video shoot, a stock take to complete at year end, a large dispatch to collate to one of our global customers, or some tidying to do before a client visit.

Occasionally - we go to car events or shows on a weekend to meet customers or display our products, which is a great chance to spend time out of the office with the

team, to meet our clients and see some of our products in some amazing cars! Notice will be given well in advance for any such occurrences.

Previous Experience



A previous occupation in either manufacturing, mechanical services (e.g. automotive, electrical, plumbing, heating trades) or similar would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities



Responsible for the assembly of products in-house, based on direction from the Assembly and Purchasing Manager with work schedules set out with daily, weekly and monthly targets from the GM.

Responsible for refurbishment of customer components and products - (mostly Porsche HVAC equipment) in line with provided time KPI's.

To ensure that all products and materials repaired, assembled and refurbished are compliant with the with the our Inventory Management System (Katana)

To prepare items ready for dispatch by courier - responsible for packaging, labelling and handing to the courier, responsible for the upkeep and management of the packing station and associated materials.

Working with the Assembly and Purchasing Manager to flag any concerns regarding stock levels to help the business aim for zero out of stock CR products

Assisting with on-site stock holding - carefully labelling products and stock locations, ensuring compliance with our Inventory Management System (Katana)

To assist with stock takes and similar processes when requested

Cost Out



Contributing to the regular 'cost out' meetings - suggesting opportunities to save time and money, working with others in the business to deliver cost savings managed by the GM.

Quality



To adhere to and support the defined quality process for all assembled products, all refurbishments, and returns / repairs.
