Assembly Supervisor (through Hole)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Through Hole Assembly Supervisor to oversee and lead the through-hole assembly department. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the team, ensuring quality standards are met, and delivering products on time to meet customer and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:



Team Leadership & People Management:



Supervise, coach, and mentor the through-hole assembly team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture. Conduct regular team meetings and briefings to ensure clear communication of goals, updates, and priorities. Manage team scheduling, attendance, and workload distribution to ensure coverage and productivity. Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews in collaboration with HR/management. Identify training needs and facilitate ongoing development for team members, including cross-training and upskilling. Support a positive working environment by addressing interpersonal issues, resolving conflicts, and promoting team morale. Promote health, safety, and wellbeing practices throughout the department.

Production Oversight & Quality Assurance:



Coordinate all activities related to through-hole PCB assembly to meet production targets and quality standards. Interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and BOMs to guide team activities. Monitor production processes and implement improvements to maximise efficiency. Work with the Quality team to ensure all assemblies meet IPC-A-610 standards and customer specifications. Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for any production or quality issues.

Collaboration & Communication:



Liaise with planning, procurement, engineering, and other production teams to ensure smooth workflow and issue resolution. Communicate effectively across departments to coordinate priorities and share updates. Maintain accurate production records and ensure timely reporting of KPIs and department performance.

Requirements and skills:



Essential:



Conversational level of verbal communication skills in English Experience in through-hole PCB assembly, with a solid understanding of the assembly process and quality standards. Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within a manufacturing or electronics environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead by example and build positive team relationships. Confident communicator who can provide clear instructions, feedback, and motivation. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. Well-organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable:



IPC-A-610 certification. Experience with mixed-technology assemblies (SMT and through-hole). Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 14.75-16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
