The Canine Behaviour College delivers an Ofqual-regulated Level 6 Diploma in Clinical Canine Behaviour - a practical, science-led, reward-based programme for dog professionals around the world. Students learn via video-based, case-driven education from leading veterinary behaviour experts, with a strong focus on real-world, ethical practice.
We're growing our education team and are looking for an Assessor to help us support and develop the next generation of canine behaviour professionals.
The Role
As an Assessor, you'll be responsible for evaluating and marking student assessments for our canine behaviour diploma. You'll review both written and video submissions, provide clear and constructive feedback, and help ensure our standards stay consistently high.
You'll report to the Head of Education and College Operations and work closely with a supportive, remote-first team.
What you'll be doing
Marking submitted assessments for The Canine Behaviour College Diploma.
Reviewing written assignments and video-based case work.
Providing clear, supportive and actionable feedback to students.
Ensuring assessments are aligned with our learning outcomes and standards.
Participating in internal standardisation/marking discussions where needed.
Flagging any concerns about welfare, academic integrity or support needs to the Head of Education and College Operations.
Contributing ideas to help improve our assessment processes and student experience.
About you
Essential:
Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).
Have completed, or are currently completing, a Master's degree in Companion Animal Behaviour (or very closely related field).
Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to give feedback that is kind, clear and confidence-building.
Experience working in a remote-based role (or demonstrable ability to work independently and manage your own time).
Comfortable using online learning platforms and common digital tools (e.g. video hosting, shared documents).
Genuine passion for canine welfare, behaviour and science-led, reward-based methods.
Nice to have (but not essential):
Previous experience assessing or teaching in higher education or professional training.
Experience in clinical behaviour practice or behaviour referrals.
Familiarity with Ofqual-regulated or similar qualification frameworks.
