Job Description

Hemiko is recruiting for an Asset Manager reporting to the Assets and Utilities Director.





We are seeking a dynamic Asset Manager to work on existing and future district heating investment projects throughout the development, mobilisation, construction, operation and post construction expansion phases. We are looking for someone who is organised, self-motivated with an eye for the finer details. The company is relatively small but is experiencing very fast growth.





The right candidate will be:


Comfortable communicating with team members, stakeholders, clients and clients' advisors as well as with contractors. Personable, a strong and tactful communicator, able to challenge positively and provide leadership to a project team. Willing and able to take ownership of adding value to the network assets you are responsible for. Comfortable with understanding asset financial models and performance and appraising working with the wider team to develop, appraise and implement projects to improve performance and grow the network assets.

The Role





The role of the Asset Manager involves taking a key role in the development, construction, optimization, and growth of heat network assets. Working closely with our internal teams and external stakeholders and customers the asset manager will play a key role in negotiating customer connections and overseeing and driving the performance of assets, to ensure we deliver safely, budget, on time and to meet customer service levels. They will also be expected to produce and communicate regular performance and KPI's reports for the asset and explore opportunities to add value.

Key responsibilities:





Participating in the delivery of new energy projects during the build and operational phases working with and supported by the wider Hemiko Team. In more detail this will include:


Become principle senior point of contact (relationship, escalation) for stakeholders and contracted customers associated with the asset. Collaborate with the Development and Connection Teams to identify growth opportunities and develop expansion strategies for the district heating network. Ensure delivery and compliance with the relevant contracts in place, in particular ensuring that the business properly and efficiently administers it's contracts with authorities and heat network customers. Ensure regulations, and industry standards in relation to the specific assets. Monitoring, analysis and reporting of assets, evaluating their performance, risks, and potential for growth. Identify areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance asset performance. Monitor asset performance, tracking key metrics and indicators to assess effectiveness of asset management strategies. Management and control of financial models and documents to ensure the asset actual and forecast performance can be evaluated against the investment case. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and stakeholders, offering insights into asset performance, challenges, and strategic recommendations. Oversee the development and drive the implementation of a targeted value creation pan for each asset.



Knowledge and Qualifications





The ideal candidate will:


Have a blend of experience of contract negotiation and administration, commercial and financial assessment and appreciation of the key technical considerations for energy infrastructure assets. Be experienced in financial and management accounting, reporting, cost control, budgeting and analysis and financial modelling (reading and using financial models). Possess strong understanding and ability to enforce contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to energy infrastructure assets. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and optimize asset performance. In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and technical aspects of district heating operations. Ideally a member of an appropriate Institution (e.g. IAM etc) Strong background in district heating systems or related energy infrastructure projects.



Skills




Excellent customer focus and communication skills. Excellent communication and presentations skills, written and in meetings. Exceptional organizational, time management, and planning abilities. Ability to engage with clients and all stakeholders, forming effective relationships, gaining their respect and confidence through all round gravitas. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to understand, influence and drive customer decision-making processes, to work with them and guide them though their procurement and governance processes to secure approval to contract. Experience of working with legal, commercial and technical teams to reach agreed contract terms, ensuring contract detail is developed with building trust while closing down issues to achieve contract close. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams, driving the value enhancement objective. Ability to objectively measure and assess and challenge underperformance through KPI measurements and project programmes. Self-driven and results-oriented, with a relentless focus on achieving project objectives and delivering successful outcomes. A willingness to be hands on and self-sufficient as appropriate.

Fully IT proficient; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email systems etc as a minimum.




Remuneration and Info




Remuneration: Base 70,000 (depending on experience). Discretionary bonus based on individual and business performance. An inclusive culture that promotes diversity.
