Asset Monitoring Supervisor



Head Office or Remote based although travel in the UK and Head Office attendance will be required



Salary: Up to 40k dependent on experience. 40 hours per week. Hours will be annualised due to peak in hours required in the winter.

This role is urgently required in the business - as such we are not accepting applications from individuals who are not already living in the UK due to the time involved in having to relocate to the UK.






Department objectives:




To maximise production and reduce operational costs by taking responsibility (where this is economically beneficial) for the operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment within your control. Key to this will be our ability to operate and maintain our own and clients generating sets, solar, and gas processing plant. To ensure the operation and maintenance of all operational solar, generators, plant, and gas systems to achieve maximum, reliable, and safe electrical output. Provide flexible and effective support to the Projects Department to ensure development commissioning is progressed to exacting timescale and budget. The aim of the Company is to develop a successful, sustainable, and profitable business based on gas utilisation, solar and O&M services. The company is looking for safe, clean, and well-run sites, which meet budgetary, performance targets and customer requirements.

Main responsibilities:




Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure monitoring activities align with health & safety and environmental, social and governance requirements; maintain accurate logs, reports, and operational records.

Adherence to Contracts:

Ensure that site operations remain in compliance with all relevant site contracts.

Real-Time Monitoring:

Continuously monitor operational performance of power generation assets via remote telemetry systems, identifying abnormalities, performance trends, and early failure indicators.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

Analyse operational data to diagnose equipment issues, verify stable plant conditions, and provide actionable insights to the operations and maintenance teams.

Problem Solving and Fault Diagnosis:

Apply structured problem-solving techniques to assess, diagnose, and recommend solutions for technical faults and performance deviations.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with site operations teams, engineering departments and contractors to address asset performance issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Preventive Maintenance Planning:

Use asset health insights from monitoring activities to support preventive maintenance scheduling and long-term asset management strategies.

Training and Knowledge Sharing:

Share insights and best practices with colleagues and field teams to enhance technical capabilities and foster a proactive maintenance culture.

Emergency Response Support:

Respond to critical alerts outside of normal hours to assist with urgent operational events and minimize downtime.

Key tasks:




Work within the constraints of the company's H&S and quality systems. Monitor and analyse operational data from SCADA and remote telemetry systems to ensure optimal performance of generators, Identify performance deviations, trends, and early warning indicators of equipment degradation, escalating critical issues proactively. Support the Operations team by providing remote diagnostics, troubleshooting guidance, and data-driven recommendations. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize asset utilisation and implement corrective action plans. Maintain and update digital records of asset health, operational events, maintenance activities, and performance KPIs. Conduct regular audits of monitoring data to validate site performance and enhance system reliability. Participate in training programs to advance knowledge in monitoring system operation, predictive analytics, and asset management best practices. Utilisation and compliance of the company's operations and maintenance procedures, manuals and record keeping. Ensure that all documentation/records are completed accurately and within the exacting timescales. Avoid unnecessary expenditure by using skills and tools available within the company and minimising reliance on contractors. Any reasonable task required by the management in the exercising of its goals.

Knowledge/ Experience




Proven experience in operational monitoring and/or supervision within power generation, landfill gas, or industrial energy sectors. Strong technical foundation in mechanical or electrical systems, with the ability to interpret operational data and performance metrics Hands-on experience with remote monitoring platforms, or similar digital tools. Computer literate with proficiency in operational data systems, MS Office Suite, and reporting tools. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make safe, informed decisions independently. Hold full UK driving licence (manual transmission).

You will work alone and expected to deal with any problems you may encounter by finding safe and cost-effective solutions. You will be expected to make routine decisions alone. For any decisions non routine which will have a major impact on operational changes or changes standard operating procedures, you would be expected to discuss with your manager.
