sector. Working alongside our UK-based team of construction and property professionals, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience supporting our government contracts across the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated student looking to apply their studies in a real-world environment, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop professional skills in asset management, surveying, and design.
What You'll Be Doing
As a
Student Placement Asset Surveyor
, you'll support the ongoing management and improvement of government estate buildings. Your work will focus on assessing the size, form, and quality of existing buildings and developing innovative design solutions to optimise space and improve performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the
updating of building condition surveys
across large, complex government buildings.
Reviewing condition survey data and assessing the performance of building stock.
Undertaking
measured surveys
of existing sites and updating record drawings using
AutoCAD
.
Assisting with the
implementation and updating of space coding
across sites.
Supporting the development of
concept designs (RIBA Stage 1)
to accompany development briefs and business cases.
Providing
AutoCAD and graphical design support
to the wider PPS team.
Attending project meetings to acquire as-built drawings and maintain master drawing registers.
Analysing and benchmarking estate performance to support asset management decisions.
Contributing to innovative design and planning solutions to enhance estate efficiency and flexibility.
About You
We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic student who is:
Currently studying for a
degree in Building Surveying, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
.
Confident using
AutoCAD
and familiar with building surveying processes.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
