Assistant Accountant

to join our finance team based in

Accrington.

Assistant Accountant

you will report into the Finance Manager and play an important part in the finance department.

Main duties will be:

Maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring ledgers are fully reconciled and accurate Managing employee expense claims and corporate credit card reconciliations Processing accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry, payment runs, and debtor follow-up Confirming incoming customer receipts and releasing orders Raising Intercompany invoices Performing day-to-day bank reconciliations Assisting with year-end audits and financial reporting

Our ideal candidate:

Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting principles Previous experience working within an accounts department of 3+ years Excellent numeracy and ICT skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively SAP B1 experience desirable GCSE A - C in Maths and English, or equivalent Ideally already started AAT or CIMA, however, experience is more important
