Taylor Woodrow is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team working on the CP7 contract in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and collaborative environment where financial insight drives performance across key projects. You'll report to the Business Unit Financial Controller and work alongside Commercial and Project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support across the business.
Duties
Prepare and support month-end close, forecasts, and budgets.
Produce regular and ad hoc financial reports, adding commentary and insight into variances.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accurate ledger maintenance.
Process supplier and customer invoices, certified applications, and retention payments.
Support with subcontractor payments using SAP and Webcontractor.
Answer queries and resolve discrepancies, including misallocated costs.
Monitor job costings and compare actuals against budgeted spend.
Ensure project teams complete financial tasks on time.
Input data into finance systems, including timesheets and delivery costings
Provide holiday cover for the Financial Controller as required.
Help continuously improve finance processes and reporting systems.
Person Specification
Experience in a finance role with a strong grasp of accounting processes (advantageous.)
Familiarity with SAP or similar financial systems (advantageous.)
Proficient in Excel (including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working autonomously and managing deadlines.
Part-qualified in AAT/CIMA (or similar) is desirable
Highly organised with attention to detail.
Effective communicator across departments.
Professional, collaborative, and eager to contribute to team success.
